MBA Online Admission Requirements:

  • Regular admission for those who have:
    • An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • An undergraduate GPA of 2.75-3.0 AND 5 years of substantial professional work experience1
  • Conditional admission2 for those who have:
    • An undergraduate GPA of 2.75-3.0 WITHOUT 5 years of substantial professional work experience
    • Submit a statement addressing GPA and professional experience, including progressively increasing work responsibilities
    • One or more recommendations from a previous employer attesting to quality of work experience
    • Conditional admittance requires earning a B or better in each of first 9 credit hours. Students are required to take only one course in their first academic term.
  • No admission for those who have an undergraduate GPA lower than 2.75

Work Experience Standards for the Radford MBA Program

The Radford MBA Program will accept relevant work experience when the applicant submits an application and resume meeting the following criteria:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience
    • May include full-time, part-time (24+ hrs/week), or non-paid work (e.g., volunteer coordinator, board service)
    • Experience can span across multiple employers and does not need to be continuous
  • Progressive responsibility over time
    • Applicants must submit a statement and a letter of recommendation showing increased responsibility
    • Growth can be demonstrated through expanded duties, not just job title changes
  • Leadership or management experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • People – Direct or indirect staff oversight (e.g., team lead roles)
    • Projects – Primary accountability for project outcomes
    • Budgets – Financial responsibility for departments or projects

To earn the Innovation MBA online, you must complete 12 courses (36 credit hours), comprised of 21 credit hours of core courses and 15 credit hours of MBA – Innovation concentration courses.

Emphasis on accounting data used by managers in decision making.  The course uses a textbook and cases.  Among topics covered are relevant cost identification in decision making, contribution margin approach and capital budgeting.

Studies behaviors of individuals and groups in work organizations from managerial view; applies the concepts, methods, and research findings of the behavioral sciences to the understanding of the causes of human performance, satisfaction and development in work organizations.

A problem-solving course designed to help reduce uncertainty in the decision-making environment of operations and production in manufacturing and service firms of private and public sectors of the economy. Emphasis on employment of mathematical models for use and application in decision making in business.

Examines techniques and concepts used in modern business and the theoretical advances in the areas of asset management and capital structure planning. Topics include capital budgeting, working capital management, valuation, cost of capital, capital structure planning, dividend policy, option pricing, mergers and acquisitions. Problems and short cases used to enhance student skills in financial planning and decision-making.

This course teaches students the art and science of selecting target markets and acquiring and maintaining profitable customers in a socially responsible and ethical manner. Case studies, experiential projects, simulations and marketing planning assignments may be used.

Study of selected topics in economic theory and their application to management problems. Topics include demand and supply, revenues, elasticity, production and cost, incremental decision making, market structure and pricing, and investment analysis. Elementary quantitative methods will be developed and utilized.

Integrates graduate business courses in a top level strategy development course. Emphasis on environmental analysis and decision making. A capstone course; must be taken during or after the term in which the last required MBA course is taken.

They will master the mindsets necessary to support creative problem solving, how to assess creativity in their organization, practice creative problem-solving processes to develop novel ideas to complex issues, and learn how to develop a work environment that is conducive to creative problems solving.

Digital Marketing Innovation and Strategy: In this course, the students should gain a conceptual understanding of the internet marketplace and be equipped with skills to formulate the digital marketing strategy of a business and run its digital marketing campaign. The class will also provide training to perform vital daily functions as a digital marketer. Upon successful completion of the course, you should be able to walk into any company with an online presence and improve its digital marketing performance.
